This policy explains what happens when you make content public on VANA.
Public profile and metric-sharing features may be introduced through a Direct VANA Experience.
When you connect a data source, you instruct and authorize VANA to collect and use the supported information from that source to provide the feature that you request. Connected information is private by default. Connecting a data source does not publish a profile or metric.
Enabling a public profile is a separate action. Before VANA publishes health information, you must affirmatively select the specific metrics or categories to publish and confirm that they will become public. If you later add another metric or category, VANA will require another affirmative publication action.
You can hide a metric, disable public sharing, make your profile private, or disconnect the source through available controls. Where applicable law requires consent to share consumer health data that is separate from consent to collect it, VANA will request the required separate consent or will not offer the affected feature.
Public information may be copied, indexed, captured, or shared by other people and services. A change to visibility does not delete copies that other people made before the change.
A Protocol stays private until you choose to publish it. When you publish a Protocol, other people may view, share, save, and, when VANA provides the feature, fork or adapt it.
You keep ownership of your content. You grant Vana Labs, Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify for formatting and operation, display, distribute, and otherwise use public content to operate, secure, improve, and promote VANA. This license lasts while the content is public and for a reasonable period after deletion for backup, legal, and integrity needs.
A fork created before you delete or unpublish the original may remain available as the forking user's content. VANA may show attribution and a link to the source Protocol when practical.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for content that you publish. Do not publish another person's health information without their permission. Public content must follow the Terms, Community Guidelines, and law.
